Cam Ranh International Airport is located in the South-Central coastal part of Khanh Hoa province and famous for its attractive sea city which provides a beautiful setting for both domestic and foreign visitors. Cam Ranh International Airport plays a crucial role in passenger transportation and tourist service in the local city.
Cam Ranh Airport is the 4th largest airport in Vietnam, located in Khanh Hoa province and 30km South of Nha Trang City. The airport was established by the US Army during the Vietnam War and used mainly for military purposes until 2004.
Cam Ranh Airport nowadays serve civil use, welcoming passengers from all over Vietnam to the famous beach city of Nha Trang. Most flights arriving in Nha Trang are from major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. There are also a limited number of international flights departing from Russia, including Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Novosibirsk.
Like most other provincial airports in Vietnam, Nha Trang airport is small and easy to navigate. Its first floor is filled with ticket booth, money exchange stall, mall cafeterias and souvenir shops. The second floor has departure and arrival halls, where passengers' waiting hall are located. The food option is rather limited at this airport, therefore it is recommended that you have your main meals before leaving the city.
From Nha Trang Airport to city center
To get to Nha Trang, visitors can either use taxi or buses. The Cam Ranh – Nha Trang buses costs you for about 30,000 – 40,000 VND and bring you to the center of Nha Trang city. Tickets can be purchased inside the arrival hall, after you collect your luggage.
Using taxi is much more expensive, yet more convenient, especially for families with children. The fee for one way trip should cost between VND 250,000- 300,000 ($12-15). Taxis are readily available as you exit the airport.
