From 31 December 2014, Passenger Terminal T2 – Noibai International Airport will be officially put in to operation, serving international flights. T1 Passenger Terminal T1 Terminal will be renovated to continuously serve domestic flights.
Passenger Terminal T2 – Noibai International Airport includes four floors and one basement with total floor area of 139.216 m2 including main building and 2 wings, designed to use large glass wall to get full of natural light and save daytime energy. Equipped with modern and synchronized aviation technology according to international standards. Can accommodate a maximum passenger capacity of 10 million passengers a year for the first phase (up to 2020) and 15 million passengers a year for the 2nd phase (2020 – 2030).

T2 Terminal Layout:
T2 includes 4 floors and 01 basement with following functions:
1st Floor: International arrival passengers.
2nd Floor: Transit passengers and International arrival passengers
3rd Floor: International arrival passengers
4th Floor: Business lounge and commercial services area
Procedures of arrival and departure flights:
International arrival passengers:
- Step 1: Passengers disembark and follow signs leading to Immigration
+ Aircraft reach BBR: Passengers follow BBR at 2nd floor, towards the central area for health quarantine and immigration.
+ Aircraft parking at apron: Passengers get in bus to terminal (1st floor), use escalator to the 2nd floor, towards the central area for health quarantine and immigration.
- Step 2: Immigration
Immigration Hall located in the central area of the main building of T2.
Passengers pass through the Auto Health quarantine before immigration.
Immigration procedures: Present your passport at the immigration counter.
- Step 3: Towards baggage conveyors (downstairs)
Baggage conveyors are located in the 1st floor.
After immigration, passengers use escalator to the 1st floor to retrieve baggage.
- Step 4: Baggage collection.
Retrieve your baggage at 06 baggage claim carrousels at 1st floor;
Baggage handling and delivery is the responsibility of the airlines from the point of check-in to the point of collection. In the unlikely event that your baggage is damaged or lost, please proceed to the Lost & Found counter at the baggage claim area for assistance.
- Step 5: Customs inspection
After you have your baggage and all your belongings, undergo the Customs inspection before leaving.
- Step 6: Enjoy your nice trip:
After finishing Customs inspection, passenger exit to the public hall and find means of transport to Hanoi downtown. You can easily get in taxi or public bus outside. Have a nice trip!
International departure passengers:
- Step 1: Check-in:
Check-in counters are located in the 3rd floor.
The number of your check-in counter can be verified on the Flight Information Display System. Passengers use passport and airticket to check-in. Note to check their boarding passes at the check-in counter.
- Step 2: Baggage screening and clearance:
Your baggage will be screened and verified.
- Step 3: Immigration
Before the immigration counter, VeriPax 1 equipment will display the state that passengers’ baggage need more customs inspection and security check or not. Please observe the sign,
- if the status “clear”: Passengers continue with immigration procedures
- if the status “unclear”: passengers follow a staff to the Recheck counter at 3rd floor; then return to complete immigration procedures.
- Step 4: Security and customs inspection
Going through security inspection, passengers present their boarding passes and their identity documents.
VeriPax2 equipment will display the state that passengers’ baggage need more customs inspection and security check or not.
+ if the status “clear”: Passenger enter restricted area, waiting for boarding.
+ if the status “unclear”: Passenger follow a security staff to the Recheck counter (1st floor) for rechecking; Then enter restricted area, waiting for boarding.
- Step 5: Boarding pass check
Passenger find the right gate to queue for checking boarding pass.
- Step 6: Boarding. See you again
+ Aircraft operate at BBR: After checking boarding pass, passengers follow corridor to downstairs (2nd floor), follow BBR for boarding aircraft.
+ Aircraft parking at apron: passengers use escalator to downstairs (1st floor) ; get on bus to transport to aircraft.
How to transport between T1 – T2:
Passengers can use shuttle bus (free of charge for transit passengers) to transport between T1 and T2 terminal.
- Time of operation: From 06h00 to 24h00 (local time);
- Frequency: From 10 to 15 minutes/ 01 respective vehicle.
- Maintaining other means of transportation (tram, public bus)

- The rest international flights during 25 Dec – 30 Dec 2014 are continuously operated at T1 passenger Terminal.
- From 04h00 (local time) dated 31/12/2014, Terminal 2 shall be put into operation to serve international flights at the Noi Bai International Airport.
The Terminal 1 only serves domestic flights.

Inside of T2 terminal is equipped with full equipment’s for operations, including:

There are also 10 self-service Kiosks used for passenger self-check-in.
§ Boarding gates: 17 gates in which 14 gates use passenger bridges and 03 gates do not use bridges.
§ Flight Information Display System (FIDS): 283 screens equipped at all necessary positions suchas public lobby, check-in counter, waiting room, boarding gate, baggage conveyer etc.
§ ARO – AIS, MET units:

Outside of T2 terminal includes:
§ Aircraft stands: 32 stands including 22 stands using bridges (numbered from East to West, consecutive from NR 30 to NR 51) and 10 stands not using bridges (including stands NRs 25, 26, 26A, 27, 27A, 27B, 28, 29, 52 and 53).
§ Visual Docking Guidance System: includes 18 sets of automatic Visual Docking Guidance equipment and 22 aircraft stands sign-boards.
§ Method of fueling: Aircraft at Terminal 2 are filled the fuel through Fuel Hydrant System. The hydrant pit is installed underground in the apron. The hydrant dispenser truck will connect the hydrant pit to wing of aircraft.
